MIAH

Located at the £21 million Base development within Manchester Science Park, The Manchester Innovation Activities Hub (MIAH) is a pioneering, state-of-the-art innovation and electrification skills training facility to power decarbonisation in the manufacturing, energy and transport sectors. Opening in September 2023, it’s a place where things and history will be made, starting with being the first Black-led innovation asset in the North West – and even perhaps the entire UK.

We are creating a blueprint for industry innovation and skills training to power the low carbon economy in Manchester. Our vision is for MIAH to become the global model for net zero industry innovation and skills training to power a low carbon future and tackle regional economic and social inequalities.

We enable innovative businesses to repivot, scale and future proof their organisation through access to the latest industrial grade fabrication equipment, prototyping expertise, electrification and industrial digitisation skills training, collaborative R&D projects and access funding under one roof.

Birthplace of the First Industrial Revolution, MIAH’s mission is to put Greater Manchester at the forefront of the Green Industrial Revolution, leveraging the research strengths of Greater Manchester’s universities in Advanced Materials & Manufacturing, Power Electronics Machines & Drives, Battery Technologies & Hydrogen.
