ORE Catapult CEO to step down in 2024

It has been announced that Andrew Jamieson will be stepping down as CEO of the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult in 2024.

Andrew has made outstanding contributions to innovation in the offshore renewable energy sector, and his dedication in leading the organisation over the past 12 years has been exceptional.

We are pleased that Andrew will continue to serve the AIRTO Board as its Chair for the duration of his time leading the ORE Catapult.

In due course, AIRTO will instigate a succession planning process to ensure a smooth transition.

Commenting on his plan to retire from the ORE Catapult later this year, Andrew said:
“It has been a huge privilege to lead ORE Catapult for more than a decade, working with an incredible team, overseeing transformative investment in innovation and research, supporting many hundreds of UK companies, and contributing to the amazing progress that we have witnessed during that time.”

About Andrew Jamieson
Andrew is Chief Executive of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, a UK wide technology and innovation centre supporting businesses to accelerate the design, deployment and commercialisation of offshore renewable energy – wind, wave and tidal power. The Catapult provides deep technical expertise and market pathway support alongside large scale plant test capabilities, enabling UK supply chain growth from SMEs to the world’s largest companies.

He was previously at ScottishPower for many years where he was latterly responsible for energy policy and regulation in the renewables business.

He sits on the Scottish Government’s Energy Advisory Board, is a past Chair of Renewable UK and Scottish Renewables and has led a number of reports for Government, including the Cost Reduction Task Force for Offshore Wind in 2012. He continues to work closely with a number of Government / industry strategic forums.

Andrew is Chair of AIRTO, the Association for Innovation, Research and Technology Organisations, the foremost membership body for organisations operating in the UK’s Innovation, Research and Technology sector.

Andrew is also a Board member of the Energy Transition Zone in Aberdeen and an Independent Director of the Projects Investment Committee of BEIS.
