AIRTO has made a representation to Her Majesty’s Treasury for the Spending Review 2021 calling for investment into the UK’s Innovation, Research & Technology sector, to enable it to play an extended role in helping the UK gear up to 2.4% of GDP for R&D by 2027, and deliver on the government’s commitments set out in the new Innovation Strategy, published in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, which aims to place innovation at the heart of ‘building back better’ and tackling key challenges such as the climate emergency.
