Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre

The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre works with manufacturers to help them compete for work in civil nuclear and other innovative energy sectors.

Nuclear AMRC researchers work alongside companies to enhance their manufacturing capabilities and develop new techniques. Key areas include machining, welding and cladding, near-net shape manufacturing, large-scale metrology and virtual reality simulation.

The Nuclear AMRC also helps companies prepare their businesses for the demands of the nuclear sector, through the free Fit For Nuclear assessment and other programmes.

The centre’s capabilities are focused on nuclear, but it can also address the large-scale manufacturing demands of other industries such as oil and gas, offshore wind and chemicals.
