Amy Smith is Chief People Officer at CPI and a member of its Executive Leadership Team. She leads CPI’s people and culture strategy, with a focus on leadership capability, organisational design, workforce planning and building the people infrastructure needed to support growth, delivery and long-term resilience.
Amy has deep experience in science-driven, regulated and innovation-led organisations, working with executive teams, boards and senior leaders to connect people strategy to organisational performance, capability and future growth. Since joining CPI in 2014, she has held a number of people leadership roles and has led work across succession, talent, reward, employee value proposition, values, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, and people analytics.
Before moving into people leadership, Amy worked in higher education, scientific recruitment and as a research chemist in the chemicals industry. She has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Durham, a BSc in Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences and a Level 7 Diploma in Human Resource Management, and is a CIPD member.
