AIRTO welcomes the appointment of the new Minister of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, Chris McDonald, and new Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds. AIRTO looks forward to working with them to support a strong and internationally competitive UK innovation system. We also thank the outgoing Minister of State (Minister for Science, Innovation, Research and Nuclear), Lord Patrick Vallance, for his superb leadership and his commitment to championing science, research and innovation across government in recent years.

AIRTO also welcomes the creation of the new Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade (BIST). Bringing together science, innovation and business policy provides an opportunity to strengthen the UK’s innovation ecosystem and accelerate the translation of research into economic and societal impact. We look forward to working with the new department to maximise the contribution of the UK’s Innovation, Research and Technology (IRT) sector to the UK’s future growth.
