A landmark hydrogen innovation programme is accelerating the UK’s transition to a net-zero economy by helping early-stage companies turn cutting-edge ideas into commercial solutions.
The HIIdrogen NEXT accelerator, led by Sustainable Ventures and supported by AIRTO member CPI with backing from Innovate UK, has engaged 56 hydrogen-focused businesses from across the UK, providing targeted support designed to unlock investment and market access.
Over the course of the programme, the cohort will be equipped with enhanced commercial skills through a series of workshops held in London, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast.
From this group, 15 companies have been selected to receive tailored support, combining technical assistance from the Catapults with intensive commercial coaching from Sustainable Ventures. These organisations are now deepening their proof-of-concept work, pursuing early partnerships, and preparing to attract investor interest as part of the programme’s outcomes-driven model.
