£500K boost for clean energy tech startups

AIRTO member The Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC) has announced the eleven startups selected for its 2025 TechX Clean Energy Accelerator.

This year’s cohort features emerging companies developing technologies in alternative fuels, CCUS, low-carbon hydrogen, renewable energy and digital-based solutions. Each of the selected startups will receive a share of £500,000 in grant funding, tailored mentorship and access to the NZTC’s extensive industry network, including programme sponsor ConocoPhillips.

The TechX programme fast tracks the development of clean energy deep tech solutions, providing a pathway to secure field trials and forge partnerships. By leveraging TechX’s dedicated resources, NZTC aims to shorten the time it takes for these innovations to reach the market.

The 18-week programme will culminate in NZTC’s annual Demo Day, where startups will present their final pitches to investors and industry leaders, with the opportunity to win additional cash prizes. Upon completion, participants will also gain up to two years of growth support, including continued access to NZTC’s network and co-working facilities to help scale their businesses.
