AIRTO member Lucideon’s recent success in achieving a 100 percent hydrogen firing at The AMRICC Centre in Staffordshire is a transformative step for the ceramics industry, positioning hydrogen as a practical alternative energy source.
This accomplishment, a first of its kind, showcases the power of hydrogen as a decarbonizing force for energy-intensive industries such as ceramics, aerospace, and beyond. Working in collaboration with Creavit Türkiye, Lucideon fired sanitaryware at a searing 1200°C over 13 hours, a feat that underscores the resilience and versatility of hydrogen in high-energy processes and positions the ceramics industry on the cutting edge of green innovation.
