The SCI develops and promotes the effective use of steel in construction. It is an independent, membership-based organisation. Membership is open to all organisations and individuals that are concerned with the use of steel in construction. SCI is financed by subscriptions from its members, by revenue from its research contracts, consultancy services and courses and by the sale of publications. SCI´s information services and research and development activities cover all aspects of steel construction, both on and offshore.
