SATRA Technology Centre is an international membership organisation, serving a number of consumer product industries including footwear, apparel, safety products, furniture, floor coverings, homeware and fabric care. SATRA is the largest research and technology organisation in the world for the footwear and leather goods industries.

A dynamic and progressive organisation, SATRA currently services over 1,600 member companies in 70 countries. Its main objective is to increase the profitability of its members by offering them exclusive access to research, products and services for: improving quality, reducing production costs, solving technical problems, improving decision making and increasing world-wide sales. SATRA is the leading UK Notified body with test facilities for Certification and Testing of PPE for Clothing, Footwear and Safety Products. It is also a notified body for the EU Toy and Child Safety Directives and Construction Products Directives. SATRA has a full scale flammability chamber, a comprehensive laundering and dry cleaning facility and a state-of-the-art furniture and bedding test facility. It also operates SATRA Quality Assurance Ltd for quality, environmental and social accountability certification.
