Senior Vice-President, Advancement and Partnerships: Mr Greg Melly

The University of Surrey is internationally recognised for its innovative approach to enterprise. We contribute £1.7bn to the regional economy each year and directly support almost 17,900 jobs. Our approach has three major strands:
98% of our research units were rated world-leading or internationally excellent, or were recognised internationally or nationally in the latest government review.
We continuously revise our programmes to bridge the gap between advanced research and teaching. We have forged excellent relationships with industry to offer relevant training; over 2,300 partner organisations work closely with us to give our students valuable Professional Training year experience and we have achieved 97% five-year average for first degree full-time students going on to employment (or further study).
The University-owned Surrey Research Park is regarded as one of the most successful parks in Europe and our students are some of the most enterprising in the UK. We work hard to ensure that value is created, that jobs are formed and that ideas translate to flourishing new ventures.
The University’s major research themes are:
- Lifelong Health and Wellbeing
- Digital Innovation
- Innovation for Helath
- Urban Living
- Space and Aerospace
