TravelSpirit is a community interest company (CIC) supported by a global network of transport operators, software developers, businesses, policy makers, planners, and activists. Our mission is to realise the pro-social, economic, and environmental potential of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) as a global public resource.
As an organisation, a community, and a movement, TravelSpirit is united by four core values:
1. Universal Mobility as a Service: We believe that an integrated, connected, multi-modal MaaS system provide a needed path towards sustainable and equitable transportation for all people and communities, not just the wealthy, the urban, and the ambulatory.
2. Open Innovation: We believe in an open innovation model, that rewards sharing of information that serves others, even our competitors, and brings benefits to all.
3. Global Community: We believe that by connecting coders, planners, activists, and policy-makers through a global network, we are better equipped to tackle the toughest mobility and transport challenges.
4. Local Benefit: We believe that our work must be grounded in its ability to demonstrate positive change by and for local communities and regions.
We created TravelSpirit to accelerate the adoption of MaaS systems built on open architecture that can adapt to regional differences in data availability and regulatory environment.
Rather than lobby individual cities to adopt such systems on their own, we established a broad, global coalition around a proposed open marketplace design, where all transportation services can be found, booked, and utilized, regardless of where a given user or provider is.
TravelSpirit is directed by an all volunteer board composed of representatives from government and private industry. We seek to expand our network to include new public and private sector partners across the globe.
