AIRTO members rising to the Ventilator Challenge

The UK Government has announced it is continuing to support eleven devices in its Ventilator Challenge, as part of the drive to increase ventilator supply and protect the NHS.

The VentilatorChallengeUK Consortium is led by AIRTO Director and CEO of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, Dick Elsy. Under the leadership of the HVM Catapult, other AIRTO members, including the AMRC and the Nuclear AMRC, are at the heart of a multi-faceted campaign to deliver the additional ventilators, the first of which will be coming off production lines around the UK as early as next week. Companies in the consortium have now received formal orders from the Government for in excess of 15,000 units.The consortium is accelerating production of two agreed designs, based on existing technologies, which can be assembled from materials and parts in current production. Read more…

The VentilatorChallengeUK consortium is committed to playing its role in delivering both medical ventilator designs to the required specifications and, in conjunction with these other companies, organisations and groups, aid the delivery of additional ventilators to the NHS. The companies involved have taken many of their people from key company projects to do this and serve the national need.
