AIRTO is pleased to announce the two new appointments to its Board

AIRTO is pleased to announce two new appointments of member directors to its Board with immediate effect: Nicola Anson of the National Physical Laboratory and Simon Andrews of Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd.

Dr. Neil Sanderson, Chairman of AIRTO, said:

“Nicola and Simon will bring a range of skills and expertise to the AIRTO Board and I am delighted they have agreed to take up these positions.”

 

Nicola Anson

Nicola Anson, Chief Financial Officer, NPL

Nicola Anson is CFO of NPL and Chair of the NPL Pension scheme, she has a track record in delivering growth with experience in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Nicola has a BSc in Zoology, an MSc in Ecology and is a Chartered Accountant. She has had a number of key roles, including Finance Director of Hobsons Publishing plc; Head of Financial Planning at Anglian Water plc; and Finance and Operations Director of Cambridge Enterprise Limited, a technology transfer, subsidiary company of the University of Cambridge. She was CFO of DANTE Limited, a company that manages and operates a pan-European, fibre optic backbone that interconnects research and education establishments throughout Europe and globally.

 

Simon Andrews, Executive Director, Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd

Simon Andrews, Executive Director, Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd

Simon is Executive Director of Fraunhofer UK Research Ltd, based in Scotland. Simon is a graduate in Laser Physics and Optoelectronics. Over 13 years he built a career in industrial R&D with a range of roles from design and production engineering to R and D, operations and product management, often in start-up, spin-out and high-growth companies. Having enjoyed collaborating with universities whilst in industry, he moved to the Institute of Photonics, University of Strathclyde to a varied business role for the next 7 years, before joining Fraunhofer UK on its formation in 2012. He holds a number of patents and is a Member of the IOD, Chartered Engineer, Chartered Physicist and Fellow of the Institute of Physics.
